Kenya Census Data - 2019

Data is key to achieving meaningful dialogue between government, citizens and other stakeholders. Census in Kenya is released every 10 years and usually in formats that are not machine ready. This reduces the number of people who could interact with the findings in timely and accurate manner. Interested parties would have to painstakingly scrape data in order to use it.

This platform presents the Census 2019 in machine readable format freely to all. Its our hope that the data will produce meaningful and productive conversations with the stakeholders.

KNBS has done a commendable job in releasing the Census 2019 data in four volumes:

  • distribution of population by county and sub county
  • distribution of population by administrative units
  • distribution of population by socioeconomic characteristics
  • distribution of population by age, sex and administrative units
